Star Trek Magazine brings you everything past present and future - all six voyages and eleven movies in one publication! Each issue, our resident Treksperts open hailing frequencies to bring you all the latest Star Trek news, and interview the most influential people in the history of the ultimate space adventure…
THAT'S A WRAP!
Principal photography on the new Star Trek movie is complete, with the first unit wrapping in March, and the film has now moved into postproduction. "I feel like this is so unlike what you expect, so unlike the Star Trek you’ve seen," J.J. Abrams explains. "At the same time it’s being true to what’s come before, honoring it."
Orci & Kurtzmann
Star Trek writers and producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzmann give their first official interview about the new movie. "It was shocking that after 40 years there was still a story to tell about the characters that started it all. That alone was a reason to do it... We wanted to introduce Star Trek again to a new generation."
CROSSING THE EDGE OF FOREVER
The Guardian of Forever opens our in-depth examination of the way in which Star Trek’s producers have used time travel across the series. "Like a mighty river, time travel and related phenomena cannot be restrained indefinitely. Like many innovations throughout human history, from the harnessing of fire to the discovery of radioactivity, time travel arrived in the original Star Trek series in 2266..." Plus, our Top 10 guide to methods of time travel, and previously unseen pictures from the set of Voyager's 100th episode "Timeless".
BURTON OF RESPONSIBILITY
The former Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E looks back over 20 years of involvement with Star Trek and his work on either side of the camera. ”I have to thank Rick Berman for the opportunity to direct on The Next Generation. That experience gave me the skills and confidence to know that I could play with any team at the highest level... I have lasting friendships and memories from the seven years I spent on the show. That’s better than the price of latinum.”
WRAP IT UP!
We go behind the scenes at the auction house responsible for the Star Trek sales, with exclusive photos of some of the best items from across the years introduced by Project Manager Colin Ware. "The wood has been repainted over the years from its original TNG era appearance to becoming the table on the Enterprise-E in First Contact and beyond, and then back again. How many people sat at this thing over the years? More than you’d think as it also appeared in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."
